What happens if my son misses a meeting or campout?
Being a member of Troop 5 is a big commitment
but regular attendance is an important part of learning responsibility, making
friends, advancement and having fun. If your son knows he will miss a meeting
or campout due to illness or a schedule conflict, part of learning
responsibility is for your son to call his Patrol Leader to let him know. We
also understand that your son, like many other members of Troop 5, may have
other activities that sometimes present a schedule conflict. To help make this
work please speak to the Scoutmaster as soon as you are aware of the conflict
as some Troop campouts or activities lend themselves to your son arriving late
or leaving early. It is important to coordinate each schedule accommodation
ahead of time with the Scoutmaster as unscheduled arrivals or departures
undermine the adult leader’s ability to properly supervise and manage the
safety of all of the boys.
