Bike Hike – April 2025

By Peter D.

At 7 AM, we left the pool as usual and arrived at Washington Crossing Historic Park, where we set up camp and went to bed. The next morning, we woke up bright and early at 7 AM and started eating our cold breakfast. Once we finished and cleaned up, we inspected the bikes, put on our helmets, and found the trail. We biked about 7 miles down the river, stopping occasionally to take breaks and reattach Tyler’s pedal. After that, we crossed the Delaware and arrived back in New Jersey. We continued biking another 5 miles to a good lunch spot, but suddenly the weather changed rapidly, and it rained hard during lunch.

While we waited for the rain to let up, we ate lunch and found Tyler a new bike. Once the rain slowed down, we biked back to camp and rested after our long biking adventure.

Later, we all went to see the sheep being sheared for the summer, where we learned how wool and flax clothes are made while getting to pet the adorable sheep. After that, we rested for the remainder of the day, played Frisbee, and explored the campsite. We had dinner and enjoyed an exciting campfire before going to bed. The next morning, we packed up, had a tasty breakfast, and headed home.
