The Troop 5 Uniform

The Scouting America uniform is more than just a shirt β€” it represents membership in a tradition that stretches back over a century. For Troop 5, it also carries the proud identity of Maplewood and a troop that has been continuously chartered since 1920.

Patch Placement

Troop 5 has a distinctive patch configuration that sets it apart from most troops. New scouts and families should follow this placement guide carefully when setting up a new uniform. Maintain ¼–½ inch spacing between patches.

πŸ¦… A Rare Distinction

The 100 Year strip on the Troop 5 uniform is not something most scouts will ever wear. It signifies that Troop 5 has been continuously chartered since 1920 β€” over 100 years of scouting in Maplewood. Every scout who puts on this uniform carries that history with them.

Where to Get Your Uniform

New families have two options for getting a Troop 5 uniform β€” the local Scout Shop or the troop’s own consignment store. And the good news is that some of the most distinctive parts of the Troop 5 uniform are provided by the troop itself at no cost.

🎁 Provided by Troop 5

When a scout joins Troop 5 the following items are provided by the troop:

  • Red beret
  • Troop neckerchief
  • Maplewood N.J. community strip
  • Troop 5 numeral patch

New families only need to purchase the scout shirt, pants or shorts, belt, and scout socks.
