⛺ Looking Ahead: Summer Camp at Massawepie

Founded in 1952, Camp Massawepie has been shaping generations of Scouts through adventure, independence, and time spent in the Adirondacks. This summer will mark our 27th year returning to Massawepie, continuing a tradition that has become central to the Troop 5 experience.

Camp Massawepie isn’t just summer camp — it’s where Scouts grow in confidence, leadership, and self-reliance, surrounded by wilderness, challenge, and opportunity.

📅 Summer Camp Dates: August 2–15

These meetings put youth leadership front and center — exactly how Scouting is meant to work.

❄️ Winter Sports Campout

February 20–22

One of the highlights of the year, the Winter Sports Campout combines outdoor adventure with winter skills and teamwork.

What to expect:

  • Skiing and snowboarding

  • Cold-weather camping skills

  • Patrol cooking and shared responsibility

  • Time together building confidence and independence

⚜️ Scoutmaster’s Corner

Winter reminds us that growth doesn’t happen in comfort. Cold mornings, new skills, and shared responsibility help Scouts discover just how capable they are. February is where resilience is built — one project, one decision, and one success at a time.

I am incredibly proud of the leadership, creativity, and spirit our Scouts continue to show.

Adventure since 1920.
