It started at 9 am in the Maplewood pool parking lot.
We met up at the lot to organize rides before we left for DC.
About 3 hours later we stopped for lunch at Fort McHenry.

There we ate our packed lunch and looked around the fort.
After learning about “The Star-Spangled Banner‘s” history – our National Anthem – we left for our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.
After a short 30 minutes we arrived at our cabin and yurt and got settled.
Throughout our four day stay in D.C. we went to many places of interest including:
-The National Air and Space Museum

-The National Archives
-The Library of Congress
-The United States Capitol

-The National Mall

-And Arlington National Cemetery

At the National Archives, we saw the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States.
At Arlington National Cemetery, we attended the Veterans’ Day memorial wreath laying ceremony and saw and heard President Joe Biden, whose son, Beau, was an Iraq War veteran, deliver a speech.

At camp the scouts played basketball and “Mario Kart” during free time.

But on the last day we had a campfire and played commandos.
Overall Troop 5 had a fun and unforgettable experience in Washington, D.C..
