Lucas Completes Eagle Scout Project at Newark Academy

Troop 5 Scout Lucas recently completed his Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project at Newark Academy, transforming a deteriorated courtyard into a beautiful and functional outdoor space for students and faculty.

The project focused on restoring an underutilized area of campus through landscaping, trail restoration, cleanup, and general improvements designed to make the space more welcoming and usable for the school community. Over multiple workdays, Lucas led teams of scouts, classmates, friends, and volunteers in completing the transformation.

As the project leader, Lucas coordinated planning, fundraising, materials, volunteer scheduling, and onsite work efforts. The completed courtyard now serves as a peaceful outdoor environment for studying, gathering, and reflection.

Lucas’s project demonstrated the leadership, organization, and perseverance required of an Eagle Scout while creating a lasting impact for the Newark Academy community.

Troop 5 congratulates Lucas on the successful completion of his Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project and on earning the rank of Eagle Scout.
